2A Northern Carolina recap Oct. 30, 2012
Corinth Holders's Will Floyd rumbled for the longest rushing play in 2A Northern Carolina this season in his game against North Johnston last week. Floyd's team defeated the Panthers as he sprinted for 97 yards on the play and finished with 250 in all.
Bunn extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Louisburg, 28-22. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Wildcats.
Barry Honeycutt's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kenneth Collins threw for 218 and three touchdowns and Tori Carmichael had 71 yards receiving. Kelvin Dunn helped Corinth Holders' passing attack out by catching four balls for 62 yards.
Corinth Holders' Collins and Carmichael have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Collins has thrown for 2522 yards this season, while Carmichael has 39 catches for 728 yards. Jaquan Jones from Warren County leads the league in rushing with 858 yards.
Bunn and the Warriors played the most hotly contested game in 2A Northern Carolina this week, with Bunn eventually emerging with a 28-22 victory.
