SOPHIA MONTS made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, ANNA RAWLINS was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. LAYLA DEEL also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 7-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Martinsville. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
