Volleyball Game Preview: Merkel Badgers vs. Grape Creek Eagles

Merkel is on a six-game streak of home losses, and Grape Creek a six-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Saturday. The Merkel Badgers will host the Grape Creek Eagles at 12:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Merkel lost 3-0 to Sweetwater on Tuesday.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Sweetwater scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-18, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Grape Creek came up short against Clyde on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

While Grape Creek was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Clyde's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-10, 25-14.

Merkel's defeat dropped their record down to 13-18. As for Grape Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 1-20.

Merkel took their win against Grape Creek in their previous matchup back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Badgers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
