Volleyball Recap: Kennedy Cougars vs. Sherman Oaks CES Knights
Kennedy had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Sherman Oaks CES Knights. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2021.
The win didn't come easy: Sherman Oaks CES scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-20, 17-25, 25-19.
Aliah Richards paced Kennedy's offense, picking up 14 kills. Richards got some help from Laila Teplin and her 17 assists. Finally, Daniela Quezada kept Kennedy's defense grounded, leading the team with eight blocks.
Having lost for the first time this season, Sherman Oaks CES fell to 3-1.
Coincidentally, Kennedy and Sherman Oaks CES will both be playing Birmingham the next time they take the court. The Cougars will host the Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Knights will head out to face them at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
