Football Game Preview: Fleming Colonels vs. Freeman Mavericks + How To Watch

The Fleming Colonels will welcome the Freeman Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fleming's defense has only allowed 12.3 points per game this season, so Freeman's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Freeman will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Fleming extended their winning streak to five on Friday. Everything went the Colonels' way against Franklin County as they made off with a 31-7 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Colonels' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Eagles are ranked 107th).

The match pitted two dominant wideouts against one another in Josiah Ragland and Quincy Pruett. Ragland had a great game and gained 140 total yards. Meanwhile, Pruett did his best for the losing side, picking up 121 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Freeman ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Glen Allen, sneaking past 21-18. The win almost wasn't to be: the Mavericks were down 15-0 in the third quarter.

Fleming's record is now 7-3. As for Freeman, their record now sits at 6-4.

Fleming skirted past Freeman 23-20 when the teams last played back in November of 2023. Will the Colonels repeat their success, or do the Mavericks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
