Preview: Saratoga Springs Blue Streaks vs. Jamesville-DeWitt Red Rams
The Saratoga Springs Blue Streaks will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Jamesville-DeWitt Red Rams at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Saratoga Springs will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Saratoga Springs beat Columbia 51-46. Given Saratoga Springs' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 196th, while Columbia is ranked 400th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Jamesville-DeWitt ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 83-81 win over Chittenango. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Saratoga Springs now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Jamesville-DeWitt, their victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-0.
Saratoga Springs was able to grind out a solid win over Jamesville-DeWitt when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 67-58. The rematch might be a little tougher for Saratoga Springs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
