Softball Recap: Crestview Takes a Loss

Crestview fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against LaBrae on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 7-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Rebels in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost five in a row.

Chloe Stoops was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Brenna Figley was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Crestview's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for LaBrae, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 20-6.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Crestview will head out on the road to take on Mineral Ridge at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Rebels' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for LaBrae, they will be playing at home against Girard at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
