It was a good run, but Durham unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-match winning streak on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the East Nicolaus Spartans. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Trojans have suffered since November 5, 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-19, 25-15.

Durham's offense was headlined by Josie Landon and Payton Santos, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Clare Osbon and her 19 assists. Santos was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Leading East Nicolaus to victory were Ashlynn Tagala and Sydney Anderson. Tagala had 12 digs and four aces, while Anderson had ten digs and two aces. That's the most digs Anderson has posted over her last six matchups.

Durham's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 11-1 and their overall record down to 28-5. As for East Nicolaus, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 31-5.

Durham and East Nicolaus should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Trojans (ranked 210th) will meet Trinity (ranked 577th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, East Nicolaus will face off against Mt. Shasta at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (161 vs. 478).
