After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Millington Central, Brighton was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 40-31 win over the Craigmont Chiefs. This was a revenge game for the Cardinals: when they faced off against the Chiefs last Tuesday, they had to take a 33-32 loss.

Brighton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Paityn Meacham, who posted 18 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Da'Lyjah Maclin, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.

Brighton's victory bumped their record up to 5-18. As for Craigmont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Looking ahead, Brighton will venture away from home to challenge St. Benedict at Auburndale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Craigmont, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-32 defeat against Booker T. Washington on the 7th.
