Baseball Game Preview: Utica Redskins vs. Lakewood Lancers

Utica hasn't had much luck against Lakewood recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Redskins will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lancers at 5:00 p.m.

Utica fell victim to Mt. Vernon and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Yellowjackets, falling 14-0. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Redskins' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Lakewood narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past St. Francis DeSales 7-5.

Lakewood has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Utica, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.
