Volleyball Preview: Oak Hills Highlanders vs. Kings Knights

The Oak Hills Highlanders will face off against the Kings Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Oak Hills is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Taylor just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Wednesday. They lost 3-0 to the Yellowjackets. The shutout was out of character for the Highlanders seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

Meanwhile, Kings and Lebanon met for a duel on Thursday where Kings came out on top. Kings narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Lebanon 3-2.

Kings was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 17-25, 23-25, 25-14, 15-12.

Kings found their leader in underclassman Kennady Horsley, who had 16 digs. Horsley has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more digs the last six times she's played.

Kings was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in four consecutive matchups.

Oak Hills' defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-4. As for Kings, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.
