Volleyball Preview: Siegel Stars vs. Lebanon Blue Devils
The Siegel Stars will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Lebanon Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. Siegel will be strutting in after a victory while Lebanon will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Monday, Siegel sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Wilson Central.
Siegel got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 19-25, 31-29, 25-13, 15-12.
Siegel's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Camryn Faulk led the charge by getting 19 digs and two aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Fenton, who had ten digs.
Siegel was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Lebanon suffered their biggest loss since September 9th on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to White County.
The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: White County scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-20, 25-20.
Siegel is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 21-14 record this season. As for Lebanon, their loss dropped their record down to 16-13.
