Softball Recap: Canton Preparatory Drops Season-High Score on Edison Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Canton Preparatory). They blew past the Edison Academy Pioneers 26-3 on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Canton Preparatory let Ti'Chaya Cass and Gaby Lamere run wild. Cass got on base in all four of her plate appearances with nine stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI, while Lamere got on base in all four of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those nine stolen bases gave Cass a new career-high. Jordyn Murril was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Canton Preparatory was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Canton Preparatory and bumps their season record up to 4-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Edison Academy, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-2 record.

Coming up, Canton Preparatory will take on Trillium Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Edison Academy, they will challenge Henry Ford Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
