Basketball Recap: Collins Jacobs and Jamarion Martin Secure Win for North

North got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They put the hurt on the Milwaukee Marshall Eagles with a sharp 77-57 victory on Tuesday. That looming 77-57 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Blue Devils yet this season.

Leading North to victory were Jamarion Martin and Collins Jacobs. Martin went 11 for 22 on his way to 23 points and seven rebounds, while Jacobs went 8 of 17 en route to 17 points and five steals. Those five steals gave Jacobs a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristen Carey, who posted eight points and eight boards.

North was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for North and bumps their season record up to 3-13. As for Milwaukee Marshall, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

North will venture away from home to face off against Milwaukee Bradley Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Milwaukee Bradley Tech is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 72.4 points per game this season. As for Milwaukee Marshall, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Milwaukee Hamilton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Milwaukee Hamilton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 matches -- so hopefully Milwaukee Marshall likes a good challenge.
