Baseball Recap: Bradford's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Bradford extended their winning streak to four on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 20-12 in the process. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Middle College Bulldogs. The result was nothing new for the Red Devils, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Carver Cates was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Bradford got a big performance out of Brodie McDaniel, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI McDaniel has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Dylan Brauer, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

As for Middle College, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10. The contest marked the first time this season in which they were not able to get on the board.

On Middle College's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Richards, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Bradford will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
