Soccer Game Preview: Wagner vs. Pieper

Wagner is 0-7 against Pieper since February of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds will be playing at home against the Warriors at 7:15 p.m. Wagner has given up an average of 5.1 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Friday just wasn't the day for Wagner's offense. They lost 10-0 to Boerne on Friday. While losing is never fun, Wagner can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 606th, while Boerne are ranked 154th).

Meanwhile, Pieper kept a clean sheet against New Braunfels on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Unicorns. The result was nothing new for Pieper, who have now won eight matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Pieper has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 37 goals over those eight contests. As for Wagner, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.
