 It was a good run, but  Cobre unfortunately witnessed the end of their  five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the El Paso Leadership Academy East Leaders by a score of  6-5. Cobre was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as El Paso Leadership Academy East apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in March of 2023.
  Cesar Jimenez was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 1-for-3 with a  home run and three  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Gavin Chuy, who  scored a  run while going 4-for-4.
 Even though they lost, Cobre  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 13  hits. That's the most  hits they've managed all season.
 On El Paso Leadership Academy East's side,  the team  relied heavily on  ARTURO BARRAZA, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of  FERNANDO CORTEZ, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
 Cobre's defeat  ended  an  11-game streak of away wins  dating back to last season and  brought them to 8-3-1. As for El Paso Leadership Academy East, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five contests,  which provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record  this season.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cobre will  face off against Silver at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Cobre's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5  runs per game  this season, so Silver's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for El Paso Leadership Academy East, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Chaparral at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Chaparral is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 9.9  runs per game this season.
