Basketball Recap: Dobyns-Bennett Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Dobyns-Bennett entered their contest against Alexander on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Dobyns-Bennett Indians took a 62-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alexander Cougars.

Alexander got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gregory Dunson out in front who went 8 for 16 on his way to 21 points and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Dunson has scored at least a third of Alexander's points. Torian Greene was another key player, going 6 of 9 on his way to 13 points and five steals.

Dobyns-Bennett's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-2. As for Alexander, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Dobyns-Bennett wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 114-105 win against Boyd County on the 21st. As for Alexander, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-52 defeat against Dorman on the 21st.
