Softball Recap: Hernando Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Hernando had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the Citrus Hurricanes on Tuesday, falling 9-2. If the Leopards were looking for revenge after losing 6-1 to them when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ariana Covell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run.

Looking ahead, Hernando will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Carrollwood Day at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Citrus, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will square off against Belleview at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
