Basketball Recap: O'Connell Comes Up Short

The O'Connell Buccaneers were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 53-47 to the Liberty Panthers. The Buccaneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Liberty was led to victory by Seth Victorian and Brayden Thibodeaux. Victorian shot 70% from the field on his way to 16 points and four steals, while Thibodeaux almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaydon Holmes, who posted nine points.

O'Connell's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

O'Connell has already played their next contest, a 58-47 victory against Trinity on the 24th. As for Liberty, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 74-67 loss against Dayton on the 24th.
