Volleyball Recap: Rose Whitemountain's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Webster Groves over Marquette

Webster Groves lost against Marquette back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Statesmen came up short against the Mustangs, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Statesmen have suffered since September 11th.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-18, 25-15.

Several Statesmen players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rose Whitemountain, who had 17 digs and one assist. Another player making a difference was Avery Enlund, who had 11 assists and three aces.

Chelsea Plunkett was a one-woman wrecking crew For Marquette. as she had 19 digs and two assists. That's the most digs Plunkett has posted over her last six contests.

Webster Groves has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14-1 record this season. As for Marquette, their record is now 14-11.

Webster Groves wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Festus on the 9th. As for Marquette, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Eureka on the 7th.
