The White Oak Vikings will square off against the South Central Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: White Oak has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while South Central will arrive with three straight wins.
On Tuesday, White Oak didn't have quite enough to beat J.H. Rose and fell 3-2.
White Oak saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashley Jaeger, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Central). They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over Jacksonville on Tuesday. Considering the Falcons have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Hailey Mickey was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Mya Blunt was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Kailey Garner, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
South Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .625. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
White Oak's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for South Central, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-4.
