Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets vs. Lakewood Lancers

The Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets will face off against the Lakewood Lancers at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Mt. Vernon will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Mt. Vernon is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing East Knox: they outscored them in every quarter. Mt. Vernon was the clear victor by a 48-26 margin over East Knox on Monday.

Meanwhile, Lakewood hadn't done well against Heath recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Lakewood walked away with a 53-44 win over Heath. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lancers.

Lakewood's victory bumped their record up to 5-15. As for Mt. Vernon, they have also been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
