Volleyball Recap: Case Snaps 11-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Case dropped to 17-2 on Thursday, ending the team's 11-match streak of wins on the road dating back to last season. They came up short against the Old Rochester Regional Bulldogs, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cardinals have suffered since November 12, 2024.

Despite the loss, Case saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Madyson Silva had 16 assists and four digs. Silva has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more assists the last 43 times she's played.

As for Old Rochester Regional, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 16-4 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win they have posted against Case since May 7, 2021.

Old Rochester Regional's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carly Mello, who had seven digs and three aces. That's the most aces Mello has posted over her last six matches.

Case didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against New Bedford on the 25th. As for Old Rochester Regional, they will challenge Barnstable at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
