Basketball Recap: Texas City Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses at Home

After losing to Ball the last time they met, Texas City decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Texas City Stingarees had just enough and edged the Ball Tornadoes out 49-46. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Stingarees.

Leading Texas City to victory were Trevor Gregory and Brandon Fountain. Gregory went 7 for 11 on his way to 15 points and four steals, while Fountain posted 14 points and six rebounds. Those four steals gave Gregory a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lloyd Pete, who earned six points.

Texas City's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-15. As for Ball, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Santa Fe the next time they take the court. Texas City will head out to face Santa Fe at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Ball will host them at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th.
