Basketball Recap: Goose Creek's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Goose Creek put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 54-42 win over the Chapin Eagles.

Leading Goose Creek to victory were Madeline Dates and Celeste Griffin. Dates posted 20 points and five boards, while Griffin earned 17 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. Those five boards gave Griffin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Downey, who had six points and five rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Chapin lost, don't look at Reagan Haggard. Despite the final result, she shot 45% from the field to rack up 12 points along with five boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sami Stephenson, who put up six points and seven rebounds.

Goose Creek's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Chapin, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Goose Creek will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Military Magnet Academy at 7:00 p.m. As for Chapin, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 69-46 defeat against Camden on the 1st.
