Preview: El Dorado Wildcats vs. Sylvan Hills Bears
El Dorado is on a four-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), Sylvan Hills a seven-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The El Dorado Wildcats will take on the Sylvan Hills Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sylvan Hills took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on El Dorado, who comes in off a win.
After only ten points in their last game, El Dorado made sure to put some points up on the board against Sheridan on Friday. El Dorado had just enough and edged Sheridan out 32-29.
El Dorado's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mitchell Polk led the charge by throwing for 166 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Sylvan Hills fell victim to Catholic's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 42-0 loss at the hands of the Rockets. While losing is never fun, Sylvan Hills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas football rankings (they are ranked 116th, while Catholic is ranked 22nd).
El Dorado's victory on Friday bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Sylvan Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.
El Dorado strolled past Sylvan Hills when the teams last played back in October of 2022 by a score of 37-19. Does El Dorado have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sylvan Hills turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
