Softball Recap: Greenbrier East's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Greenbrier East was the 12-9 winner over James Monroe when they last played one another on April 8th, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans fell 12-9 to the Mavericks on Wednesday.

Reagan Cline was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with one home run, seven RBI, and two triples. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Greenbrier East's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-9. As for James Monroe, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greenbrier East will host Woodrow Wilson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for James Monroe, they will welcome Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mavericks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
