Basketball Recap: Illinois Valley Wins Going Away Against Gold Beach

It was a proper cat-fight when Illinois Valley challenged Gold Beach on Monday. The Illinois Valley Cougars strolled past the Gold Beach Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 49-32. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Panthers back in January, they had to take a 42-41 loss.

The win made it two in a row for Illinois Valley and bumps their season record up to 8-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.5 points over those games. As for Gold Beach, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-14.

Illinois Valley has already played their next match, a 57-35 loss against Myrtle Point on the 11th. As for Gold Beach, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 63-27 defeat against Oakland on the 11th.
