Softball Recap: Rio Mesa Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Rio Mesa dropped their record down to 14-8 on Thursday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 16-0 to the Camarillo Scorpions. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Spartans have suffered since March 13th.

Rio Mesa saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa Diaz, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

As for Camarillo, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-3. Considering they have won nine matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

On Camarillo's side, Alianna Rodriguez was a standout: she went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Laynee Flores, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Rio Mesa didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 1-0 loss against Ventura on the 25th. As for Camarillo, they have also already played their next game, an 11-8 win against Royal on the 29th.
