Soccer Game Preview: Brooks vs. Madison Academy

The Brooks Lions are taking a road trip to take on the Madison Academy Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Brooks will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Brooks had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the three-goal drubbing they dealt Wilson on Thursday. The Lions' defense stepped up to hand the Warriors a 3-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Brooks, who have now won four matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Madison Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over Tharptown. Micah Knowles had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Madison Academy.

Madison Academy pushed their record up to 12-3-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Brooks, they now have a winning record of 5-4-1.
