Softball Recap: Tunkhannock Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Tunkhannock won the last time they faced Crestwood and things went their way on Thursday too. The Tigers walked away with a 4-1 win over the Comets. The victory was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on four straight.

McKenzie Hannon was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

Hannon wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Emily Patton, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Tunkhannock hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matchups.

Tunkhannock's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Crestwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
