Basketball Game Preview: Heritage Pride vs. Potomac Falls Panthers

Heritage hasn't had much luck against Potomac Falls recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Heritage Pride will be home for the holidays to greet the Potomac Falls Panthers at 7:15 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Heritage is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Osbourn Park: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Heritage blew Osbourn Park out of the water with a 61-22 final score. With the Pride ahead 40-17 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Heritage relied on the efforts of Dylan Williams, who posted 14 points along with six assists and four steals, and Jordan Garland, who went 5 of 7 en route to 10 points along with seven steals and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Roane, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 10 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Potomac Falls put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 66-35 victory over Osbourn. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season.

Potomac Falls' win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. As for Heritage, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Heritage ended up a good deal behind Potomac Falls when the teams last played back in December of 2023, losing 75-59. Can Heritage avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
