Basketball Recap: Springfield Catholic Takes a Loss

Springfield Catholic came up into this matchup off a tough 26-point defeat back in December of 2024. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Lighthouse Christian Chargers by a score of 51-49 on Monday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Fighting Irish this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 74-73 back in December of 2024.

Lighthouse Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Judah Louderback, who went 6 of 12 en route to 15 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Louderback a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Jojo Rahn, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points and five steals.

Springfield Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Lighthouse Christian, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-4.

Springfield Catholic and Lighthouse Christian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. Springfield Catholic (ranked 119th) will meet Marshfield (ranked 409th) at 6:15 p.m. on January 21st. Similarly, Lighthouse Christian (ranked 55th) will meet Seymour (ranked 218th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
