Hedgesville has gone 9-1 against Greenbrier East recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Hedgesville Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Greenbrier East Spartans at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Eagles fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Thursday's season opener. They walked away with a 7-2 win over Musselman on Thursday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Applemen recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Mason McGill tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over 5.1 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Cash Dunham was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Manor, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Greenbrier East posted their closest win since April 19, 2024 on Thursday. They skirted past Princeton 4-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Hedgesville was able to grind out a solid victory over Greenbrier East in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hedgesville since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
