Softball Recap: Johnson Central Gets the Win

Wolfe County typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Johnson Central proved too difficult a challenge. They won by a run and slipped past the Wolves 4-3. The Golden Eagles haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Bella Bowen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Johnson Central saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julie Dials, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base was Dials' first of the season. Another was Leah Hall, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Johnson Central's win bumped their record up to 21-11. As for Wolfe County, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-10.

As of now, neither Johnson Central nor the Wolves have any future games scheduled.
