Word of God Academy came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Psalms Christian Academy Ambassadors. Considering the Force have won four matches by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Leah Daugherty made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Word of God Academy let Brynn Jordan and Kallie Pizarro run wild. Jordan went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple, while Pizarro went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That home run was Jordan's first of the season. Mikah Vonsenden was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Word of God Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Word of God Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Psalms Christian Academy, they moved to 7-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Word of God Academy 2.7, Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool 2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Psalms Christian Academy is set to square off against their familiar foe Good Samaritan HomeSchool at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Psalms Christian Academy is on a five-game streak of home wins, Good Samaritan HomeSchool a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
