Basketball Recap: Biloxi Comes Up Short

If Biloxi was riding high fresh off their 51-29 takedown of Ocean Springs last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Biloxi Indians were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 62-61 to the Gulfport Admirals. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Admirals this season, with their most recent loss being a 63-55 defeat two weeks ago.

Despite the loss, Biloxi still got an impressive performance from Alejandro Montalvo, who went 9-for-12 on his way to 22 points. That's the most points Montalvo has posted since back in November of 2024. Kentrell Beasley was another key player, putting up 12 points and six steals.

Biloxi's defeat dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Gulfport, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 25-2.

Biloxi wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 73-64 victory against Northwest Rankin on the 17th. As for Gulfport, they have also already played their next game, a 52-46 loss against Meridian on the 15th.
