Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Schlarman). They were the clear victors by a 14-8 margin over the Danville Vikings on Monday. The Hilltoppers have beaten the Vikings the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Vikings has come to flipping the script.
Miles Crosby was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Schlarman's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-12 when he doesn't).
