Baseball Recap: Everglades Takes a Loss

After flying high against McArthur last Thursday, Everglades came back down to earth. The Gators lost 13-4 to the Pembroke Pines Charter Jaguars on Friday. The Gators were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Pedro Duran was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Alex Mota, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Everglades' loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Pembroke Pines Charter, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-9-1.

The future could be bright for both Everglades and Pembroke Pines Charter: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Gators will try to hand Pompano Beach their seventh-straight defeat when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pembroke Pines Charter will look to extend Goleman's five-game losing streak when they meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
