Basketball Recap: Mandarin Mustangs vs. ED White Commanders
Mandarin had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 5-14 to make it eight. They fell 67-55 to the ED White Commanders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Commanders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-45 back in November of 2025.
Despite the loss, Mandarin still got an impressive performance from Tian Wyche, who almost dropped a double-double with 27 points and nine rebounds. Enzo Lee was another key player, putting up 13 points along with five boards and three steals.
As for ED White, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points over those games.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead ED White to victory, but perhaps none more so than Michael Hinson, who posted 23 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Hinson's third in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Jamal Scott, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine boards.
Mandarin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-58 victory against Middleburg on the 26th. As for ED White, they have also already played their next game, a 61-50 win against Sandalwood on the 20th.
