Basketball Recap: Helias Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Helias can now relate to. They fell just short of the St. Teresa's Academy Stars by a score of 47-44 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Crusaders have suffered since December 27, 2023.

St. Teresa's Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nora Roddy, who shot 56% from the field on her way to 13 points along with six boards and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazlyn Rhodes, who posted nine points in addition to eight steals and six assists.

Helias has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season. The victory was the eighth in a row for St. Teresa's Academy, bringing their record up to 21-5.

Helias does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Teresa's Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 63-42 defeat against Lift for Life Academy on the 22nd.
