Baseball Recap: Valor Christian Takes a Loss

Valor Christian fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Arvada West on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 6-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-2 on Thursday.

Max Matteucci was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Valor Christian is 2-1 when Matteucci posts three or more RBI, but 9-11 otherwise. Colin Kersten also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Valor Christian now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Arvada West, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 20-2-1.

As of now, neither Valor Christian nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
