Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lafayette). They never let the Columbus Falcons get on the board and left with a 21-0 win on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Commodores as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Brett Williams looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Tanner Harris was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Guest, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Lafayette kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Columbus only managed two.
Lafayette's record now sits at 14-6. As for Columbus, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17.
Lafayette wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 3-2 win against West Union on the 2nd. As for Columbus, they have also already played their next contest, a 21-4 defeat against Nettleton on the 2nd.
