Preview: Dixon vs. Pender
This Friday at 7:00 PM, Dixon faces Pender. Dixon is limping into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
Dixon suffered a painful 46 - 20 defeat to Croatan last week. However, senior Deante Jackson didn't go down without a fight as he ran for 255 yards and also punched in two touchdowns.
As for Pender, it had a lot of difficulties with Richlands last game and took a hard 33 - 12 hit. The team got a solid performance out of senior Latrell Brown (he earned two touchdowns and 107 yards rushing the ball); unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win. This marked the 5th consecutive game in which Brown had 100+ rushing yards.
After their losses, Pender dropped to 3-4 and Dixon dropped to 1-6. We'll find out on Friday which team can get past their defeat and step into the winner's circle.
