Football Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Briarfield Academy

Briarfield Academy had won two straight games and Trecin Baker did his part to make it three on Friday. The Rebels blew past the Union Christian Academy Lions, posting a 64-8 victory with plenty of help from Baker, who rushed for 81 yards and one score, and also picked up 71 receiving yards and one TD. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 55 yards.

Another player making a difference was Davis Holt, who threw for 135 yards and three touchdowns on only six passes. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last eight games he's played.

Briarfield Academy's record is now 7-2. As for Union Christian Academy, their loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

Looking ahead, Briarfield Academy will challenge Tallulah Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. As for Union Christian Academy, they will square off against Riverdale Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will be up against the Rebels' rather soft defense (which has allowed 48.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
