Volleyball Recap: Colfax Triumphs

Colfax posted their closest win since September 18th on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cumberland Beavers, sneaking past 2-1. The victory was some much needed relief for the Vikings as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

Colfax had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 26-24, 15-5.

Brynn Sikora paced Colfax's offense, picking up six kills. Sikora got some help from Ruby Kunsman and her nine assists. Kunsman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Colfax's win bumped their record up to 11-17. As for Cumberland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 18 of their last 19 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-28 record this season.

Colfax didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Boyceville on the 14th. As for Cumberland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Hayward on the 14th.
