Softball Game Preview: ROWVA/Williamsfield Cougars vs. Princeville Princes

The ROWVA/Williamsfield Cougars will face off against the Princeville Princes at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. ROWVA/Williamsfield is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

ROWVA/Williamsfield fell victim to Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Cougars were not able to get on the board.

Princeville couldn't beat Stark County on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Princes came up short against the Rebels, falling 19-7.

Mekaya Cihla made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Reagan Walsh, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

ROWVA/Williamsfield's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Princeville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

ROWVA/Williamsfield couldn't quite finish off Princeville in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
