Softball Recap: Jellico Takes a Loss

Jellico was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 22-21 heartbreaker at the hands of the Scott Highlanders. Even if the Blue Devils couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Jellico's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Scott, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.

Jellico and Scott could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. The Blue Devils will take on Wartburg Central at 5:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (297 vs. 146). Meanwhile, Scott (ranked 290th) will meet Anderson County (ranked 72nd) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
