Volleyball Recap: Toombs County Find Success

Toombs County hadn't done well against Woodville-Tompkins recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Bulldogs walked away with a 2-0 win over the Wolverines. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolverines, too.

Toombs County easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-21.

Arianna Hill had an outrageously good game as she had ten digs, six kills, five aces, and one block. Those ten digs gave her a new career-high. Alivia Patrick was another key player, getting nine kills and three digs.

Toombs County's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-4. As for Woodville-Tompkins, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Coincidentally, Toombs County and Woodville-Tompkins will both be playing Islands the next time they take the court. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Sharks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Wolverines will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
